I'm sure you've all been biting your fingernails in anticipation of this blog post about my life on the xp farm team. In all seriousness, I am enjoying farm life. It is a whole lot more fun than you might think.
Circa October uhm 29th (I think), 2017, I, er, joined a farm team. I've been receiving a surprising number of in game emails from complete strangers asking me why I "became an XP farm." Well, I didn't become a farm, I'm still Alleviates. I didn't go on vacation (well I actually did, but I came back, and I never took a vacation from the game). I haven't started playing less; I play more, if anything, now. Why? I'm happier.
Get your story straight at least. I didn't join just any farm team; I joined the most widely-known farm team, the one Pixxel fondly refers to often on stream when a newer player asks how to find and bookmark farms. So there. She has done this since I started watching her streams back in summer of 2016, fondly asking players to "Google" the word "loose" in team search. Don't worry, you'll find us.
I was going to San Francisco to visit the Pocket Gems headquarters in late October, and I knew I'd miss wars. I messaged a couple of officers on my team about it, and one wrote back. Yes, I was going to get kicked but temporarily. It was really just a whatever to me. Getting removed temporarily because of vacation is a typical practice in the War Dragons game. Except I didn't want to miss the feeding event (or playing casually), so just like I've done so many times myself before Beta access, the night before I went to PG headquarters, I typed "loose" into team search. This time it was not to find a farm. It was to request to join the farm. To my surprise, I was automatically accepted and immediately greeted.
Myths of the Farm Team
They are all on vacation
Uhm, nope. These are real live players with dragons.
They have quit the game
Nope again. They play, most of them daily.
Farms don't attack
Bologna. They'll attack you, and so will I. We need resources, too. We also participate in all events, even PVP.
Haha, XPFarmsLooseX1 was accidentally misspelled
Would you like some mayonaise with your bologna? The spelling was intentional.
Wait, "Are you THAT Alleviates?!"
Probably the nicest welcome I've ever been given upon joining a team. Someone actually recognized me (you might be surprised how often some teams had no idea I even have a website).
No, I'm her evil twin, sent to XPFarmsLooseX1 to secretly corrupt and disband the long-time team.
Mission, what mission? Farms are meant to help players. Another myth is that Pocket Gems bans farms. More bologna. Mustard maybe? Pocket Gems is an advocate of farms, and it is my hope that in the future that some interesting innovations transpire regarding the presence of farm teams in the game. In the meantime, if you'd like to try something different, you might check out a farm team. We're obviously talking XP or chest farms, not baseball team feeders, but we would love to have you.
