Well let us hit the ground running and get this moving!! As with anything you need to start from the begining, base set up is a crutial part of the game. The main this to remember is that as you upgrade buildings you gain the XP to go to higher levels. The tempting thing is to climb in levels as fast as you can to get the beeter stuff, right?? you know we all have done it, but the key to having a strong account is to keep your dragons at a higher level than you base is!!
What do you measn by that Seraph?? well you want ot make sure your dragons can hit higher level basses so that you can continue to advance their level, getting the big reaourses and detering any would be attackers (to a degree) from trying to take your resources! using this basic concept you can build a strong defense and have a strong offence at the same time. Now that we have that out of the way lets look at how to begin!!
We all know that when you start out it seems to go very slow and growing your Defense Power (DP) seems to drag on and on. Well there are many ways to build your base, many different takes on how to set up a great defense. lets look quickly at how to start your base then we will look at the more advanced base setups!!
When looking at your base you have your home base or castle, then the first long island then the short one on turn 1, the middle long one and the little one on turn 2. The other long island is not really needed unless you are looking into and expanded base set up. I have created a .png as an example to show you how I have described it and the layout!
REMEMBER LESS IS MORE!!!
That being said here we go! Always make sure you put lumber mills and farms in the back by the Home Base. Also using a storm tower in the middle until you can replace it with an Ice Turret, is a good idea to protect your resources. Each of these towers employs a shield, but the Ice will remain in effect after the Turret has been destroyed, unlike the storm tower. With repair hammers and increasing the defense with a defensive shield, it will make it harder for the opponent to complete your base in one dragon, then blocking them from getting 5 flames.
I also have heard it recommended that you get all towers on big island 1 should to level 10 before moving to next island, that way as you moove forward you can then increase by 2 levels from the back. So island directly in front of Home Base should have mills and farms with level 10 towers, then the stretch in front of that should have all towers to level 10 before moving to the next island at turn 1. This small island needs to have the all of towers here to level 10 before moving on. STOP here and go back to home stretch and increase the towers two levels, to level 12's. Doing this will help keep your defenses strong. okay, then move back to small island and increase all towers here to level 12's. keep doing this and repeat this process till your builder hut needs to be upgraded.
Note: you can continue to clear fog and tower spaces on the islands as you work on your base but DO NOT expand your base, patients is the key here!!
Keep following this process and go slow moving a forward. When you get to the long stretch in the middle that is the next double island holding 10, stop here. the reasoning is because you can over extend and loose the ability to defend even if you are actively defending. There are those that say building out into here before you have your towers to level 20 is not a good idea. I leave the choice up to you, but it would be wise to still go at a slower pace so you don't end up unbalanced!!
I have given you the basic idea not the rest is up to you. I will upload a sheet that I created to help you put things into focus. It is not in the same pattern that we have described but it will help and you can use it for you and your team!! as we discuss bases at higher levels you will see how this changes and flows!
