Obsi sat on a bench, watching and drinking some of Maiara's wine. Ano sat down beside her.
"So, you will be leaving us soon?"
Obsi nodded. "Yes. I am anxious to get home to tell Dally what happened and what is most likely coming, but I'll be very sad to leave this beautiful place."
Ano took a deep breath. "Well, how would you feel if I asked you if I could come with you?"
Obsi turned and looked at him. "You would really do that? Leave this?"
Ano chuckled. "You heard what Meglok said. I will not disobey the words of a dragon god."
Obsi laughed. "Of course, I'd be more than happy to have you. I can make a portal between here and my base so you can visit whenever you like."
"And you say you are not a goddess," Ano teased. "Besides, you said yourself we have much to learn about defenses."
Obsi blushed. "Yes, I guess I did say that. Although, thankfully, defenses weren't needed."
"Agreed," Ano said as he rose. "I will go get my things together. You are leaving in the morning, yes?"
"Yes, and on that note, I suppose I should go and say my goodbyes."
"We do not say goodbye here," Ano said, "We say until next time."
Obsi smiled. "I like that better." She watched Ano walk to his hut, then went to thank each and every person there from both tribes for their kindness. She danced with almost every person there, lastly Maiara.
"We cannot thank you enough, Obsidian Wraith," the Wave leader said with a smile. "But I thought it would be a start to send you home with several barrels of my wine."
"Oh, that is wonderful! Thank you!" Obsi hugged Maiara.
"You are welcome here any time," Maiara said, tears welling in her eyes. "Take care of my son. I know he will be back, but he will be missed just as well."
"I will, I promise." Obsi stayed until the festivities wound down, then returned to Leilani's hut. They talked for several more hours, Leilani promising to come and visit Obsi and Ano.
As the sun rose, Obsi woke and gathered her things. Ano met her outside the hut with a cart containing the wine and his things. They pulled the cart to the cave where Obsi had teleported to the island. Namaka's mark glowed on the inner wall. They entered, each putting one hand on the cart and one on the wall.
In an instant, they were back in the Sacred Ridge.
They exited the cave with the cart and suddenly Ano stopped. Obsi looked up and saw Ronin flying overhead. Saito guided the dragon to the ground in front of them.
"Hello, Obsi!" the samurai called.
"Hello Saito! I did not expect you to be here!"
"I was in the neighborhood," Saito shrugged. He jumped off Ronin's back and helped them attach their belonging to the dragon's back. Ronin flew them to Obsi's base, where it was not surprising that Dally was waiting.
"I have to tell you something," Obsi said urgently.
"It can wait," Dally said. "I have a surprise for you." She pulled Obsi behind her to the Meeting Hall.
The team was there and greeted her warmly. Dally pointed to the bench straight ahead. Obsi's eyes welled with tears.
They had all come home.
Obsi hugged them all warmly and asked for someone to tap one of the barrels of wine to celebrate.
Dally put her arm around her sister. "Surprised?"
"Yes, very much so!"
Dally laughed. :Good! Now, what was it that you wanted to tell me?"
"Oh, yeah, well, Kharnyx is back..."
