The reflection was coming from behind her.
Dally jerked in her sleep and woke up to the realization that it was only a dream. She sighed, then got up to get dressed. Once she felt presentable, she picked up her screen and called Obsi.
The sisters spent about an hour catching up on the events of the last few weeks. Archelois had decided to stay on as one of Obsi’s Dragon Riders, and Obsi loved having Cavaleris in her stable. She took to referring to Lorenzo as “party boy”, which made Dally laugh. “Now I won’t be able to look at him tonight without laughing!” she chided.
“Could you before?” Obsi asked with a smirk.
“Not really,” Dally admitted. “Well, sis, I’d better go. Ophelia’s girl will be here soon to help me get ready.”
“Ok sis,” Obsi replied. “Be careful. I love you and I’ll see you soon.”
“I love you too,” Dally said. As they hung up, right on cue, there was a knock at the door. Dally opened it and invited the girl inside. “Thank you, Miss, but we’d better get going,” the petite blonde said meekly. “Miss Ophelia wants me to take you to the spa at the mineral springs, and it will be getting very crowded very soon.” The girl hung Dally’s dress from the bed post and put her shoes and jewelry on the bed next to it. They left, and spent the next few hours at the spa. Dally felt as if her skin was brand new as she slipped into her outfit for the evening. The girl, whose name was Mara, fixed Dally’s hair into ringlets, made up her face, and helped her put the sparkling diamond-like necklace and matching bracelet on.
Mara backed up as Dally stood. “My, Miss, you look like the prettiest woman in town!”
Dally smiled. “Thank you,” she said shyly.
Ovidius called up the stairs. “Dallyah! Yer ride is here!” Dally looked at Mara.
“Well, here goes nothing.”
