"Ahoy Lord Dally!" she called.
"Ahoy Captain Swann!" Dally called back.
Swann jumped from the railing of the ship onto the base. She extended her hand to Timur. "Good ta see ye again, Timur!"
"Good to see you again as well, Captain," he replied as they shook hands.
"And this is..."
"Rajani," Swann finished for Dally, narrowing her eyes. "Lass, have ye any idear how worried ol' Reggie has bin over ye?" Her melodic voice rose and took on an uncharacteristically angry tone. "He an' Metis 'ave bin searchin' everywhere fer ye! Why I bin searchin' too! Why, when I get back to Bridgewater..."
"No need to scold the child, Captain," called Reginald as he trotted down to the dock. "I've already given her a good tongue lashing already."
"I will stop, but I will not apologize," Swann replied as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Ifn' my ol' man cared a fraction of how Reggie cares for ye, lass, I'd not be worryin' him senseless." She turned to face Dally and didn't see Rajani stick her tongue out at her. Timur stifled a laugh.
"I'm glad yer here, Lord Dally. I wanted to speak to ye about somethin'."
"Of course, what is it?"
Swann guided Dally away from the ship. Reginald followed.
"Well, as ye know, the Withermoon is upon us agin. Me crew is...well...scared out of their skin to go back out ta sea. If I introduce them to ye, and ye find them trustworthy, would we be able ta stay here til the Moon passes? I wouldn't impose, but me crew is usually fearless..."
"The Withermoon brings that out in all of us," Reggie said reassuringly.
Dally nodded. "How many in your crew?"
"Eight, countin' me, but they be a bit of a mixed bag."
"How so?" Dally asked. She saw Ano and Krieger walking toward the dock as they walked back toward the boat. Swann whistled and her crew appeared at the ships railing.
A bit of a mixed bag was an understatement.
A tall female with long white hair, clearly an Islander, said, "I'm Amihan!"
"Ami!" Ano called.
"Allo Chief Ano!" she called back, smiling broadly.
Two trolls, who looked to be human other than their overly bulbous noses and slightly too broad shoulders, one male and one female, went next. "I am called Somerled," the male said.
"I am called Viatrix," the female said.
"Som and Trix, fer short," Swann added. "They be a couple."
A male elf with long black hair said, "My name is Roc."
A female dwarf, who reminded Dally of a short, female version of Bjorn (minus the beard) waved and said, "Mana."
A male from the same clan of Orcs as Deathclaw raised his hand, "I am Tritan."
Lastly, a dark skinned human male smiled and said, "Hi, I'm Tony!"
Dally glanced at Krieger, who nodded his approval. "Alright, you and your crew can stay here, Captain Swann."
"Thank ye, Lord Dally!" Swann said with a hug. "Ahoy mates, let's git this cargo unloaded!"
"Aye aye!" her crew replied in unison.
"Before I fergit," Swann said, "I found this here letter floatin' near the harbor at Bridgewater." She handed the note to Reginald. "It ain't good news."
