The ramblings of a MadHatter
I. Hi once again
II. The joys of snax
III. Don't quit, go green
IV. Halloween in April?
Ok, as I haven't been booed of stage yet or ran at of town being pursued by an angry mob wielding pitch forks and burning torches I'd thought I'd have another go and due to my survival on here, I'd consider yourselves all 75 SBP richer, you're welcome. I'll keep it to an sight into a players perspective as there are plenty of guides out there already, but if need a hand, feel free to mail me and I'll see what I can do. I don't even know if any one reads this, but if you do, thank you mum.
Right, Conquer event is live, teams are out there grabbing each other by the acres and tugging hard, the lovely RSS is piling up and the famine seems to be coming to an end, I even managed to feed a dragon, which was nice. But I assume (and hope) it's breeding event next, this won't last long, so may I ask that you all don't send or spend your food or wood, I'll do the neighbourly thing and collect it from you, leaving you a gap to get some more, it's the least I can do. :)
One of the other joys of being in a team is the wiki, it's a brilliant way of sharing information to the whole team and a great resource for players to add and amend anything they wish. Of course I do abuse this facility (nearly as much as my liver) much to my amusement, but since last June I've added the weekly events in the form of posters, showcasing the top ten players in event that week (these were provided by Alleviates and then MadMr209, thanks guys, they kick ass). The battle now ensued to get a place on one of the hallowed posters often with the banter that goes with it. Now a while ago a team member got hold of me asking why the whole team wasn't on these posters, after a conversation and hopefully a satisfactory response it got me thinking, how can I include the team, well we are all pushing in the same direction, so I started adding the entire team in a list, player, positions and points achieved, gets the whole team in one event in one place so if needed, they can check on previous events and compare.
As you can imagine, this is a time sponge and with all the attack and defend tabs flashing and emails pinging in there are plenty of distractions too. So with screen shots in hand, this weeks efforts were catalogued, I sat back, checking the work, enjoying a sense of a job done well, massaging some blood back into my fingers, when I was distracted by something at home, turning back to the screen an attack tab popped up, instinct took over and I joined an attack, oh f**k. Raid finished, I went back to wiki, opened up the event folder, checked the subfolder to be greeted by a shiny fresh, empty screen. A tear formed adding to the sad face already in place. Right, take two, let's go again. Maybe after celebrating two birthdays I completed it again, went through it, made sure the names were correct for that week, knowing it was finished, I just hit the X, I quit the wiki. Take three is go, after retrieving my iPad from the garden, being glad the window was open, the information installed, completed I was now in a sense of heightened alertness, my focus was finding the sanctuary of the save tab. Scrolling up seemed to take forever, it has to be here, why isn't it here, have I bored it and now it's left me, doomed to keep writing this same page over and over again? When the green light shined true, tapped it, checked it to make sure it had stuck and wept with joy.
Now in the MadHatters, every PVP event we have a theme, different ones each week. These started as a bit of fun way back, then after being in the same leagues for ages preparing for the next step up, the younger players made friends with other teams and vice versa, so these themes became a mask to hide behind, to attack with out guilt, obviously over time people worked out who each other was, but by that time it was almost over, sometimes now we struggle to tell who is who. Any way this weeks theme is Horror characters, getting some good memories back now and maybe not some good ones too lol. But to think, if your there, alone at night, pitch black, you may get a visit from one of us, wouldn't that be lovely.
I guess I've took far too much of your time up, I don't do returns I'm afraid.
